We are in an era of exciting changes in the art world.

Great artists who were formerly underrepresented are getting their due, online platforms and social media have widened our access to the global art market, and fashion and music collaborations and fractional art investing are helping new types of collectors buy art.

Laura Edelman established Edelman Art Advisory to push these trends of acceptance and inclusion further by cultivating various avenues for new, current and future collectors to engage with today’s dynamic art world.

Laura first discovered the joy of art collecting through her parents, whose different personalities and interests coalesced when it came to collecting Photography. Together, they formed close relationships with museum curators, dealers, artists and other collectors in their city, which led to regular opportunities for the family to look, learn and talk about art. For Laura, it was formative to be surrounded by objects that not only enriched the aesthetics of her home, but that also represented and reflected her family’s values of intellectual curiosity, mutual respect and community building. She endeavors to imbue these tenets into every client’s art experience.

Laura has worked in the art world for the past eight years. She previously held curatorial and sales positions at The Museum of Modern Art, Artsy and David Zwirner before moving into private art consulting in 2022. She is also the Founder and co-Chair of The YPA, a young professional’s group committed to fostering growth and transparency in the art world. She holds a BA in Art History from NYU.
