Artworks $10k and Under - 6/27/24

I want to debunk the myth that all good art has to be expensive. To prove it, I am sharing a selection of my favorite artworks priced $10,000 and under that have recently caught my eye.

No artist can charge a fortune right out the gate; a market has to be made to justify an amount that far exceeds the production cost and overhead of making and marketing an artwork. As such, the artists represented in my selection are very or somewhat early in their career. Some of these artists will go on to be very successful, and some may not be so lucky -- the rising quality and substance of the work with the right collector/gallery/museum support largely determines the definition of success -- regardless, the upside of this unknown is that at four-figure price points, if you love the artwork, it really doesn't matter if the art rises in value or not. The smaller investment is worthwhile to own something you cherish and to help an artist get their start. 

My selection of 30 or so recent artworks are ordered by lowest to highest price, starting at $1,000 and going up to $10,000. As many of these works are part of summer gallery exhibitions that are opening this week, they are all subject to remaining availability. With that in mind, please let me know if anything catches your eye, as the early bird gets the worm. I'm happy to send more high res images and information on anything as needed.
